"It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend the latest book by Rosamund Weissman, ‘Hebrew Lessons for Beginners from the New Testament.’ The author’s purpose, expressed in the book’s Preface, is to help Christian readers connect with the people of Israel ‘on a deeper level through some basic understanding of the Hebrew background to the New Testament writings.’ The book does this admirably, giving us an introduction to Biblical Hebrew that challenges the mind, combined with a devotional approach that warms the heart. One does not need to have an aptitude for language learning to appreciate what Rosamund has written, but simply a desire to discover the benefit gained for a better understanding of the New Testament and its context from at least a rudimentary knowledge of the ancient language chosen by God to transmit the unsearchable riches of His truth in the Old Testament. And, who knows (the Lord certainly does!), perhaps among the readers of this book, might there be some who will go on to emulate ‘the father of modern missions,’ William Carey, who, although he was a poor, little-educated English shoemaker, nevertheless taught himself Biblical Greek and Hebrew, and went on to translate the Scriptures into India’s major languages?"

"Rosamund has written an excellent book on Hebrew for Beginners. It avoids the depths of all the grammar which can easily put people off, while giving a very clear understanding of the Hebrew words and pronunciation for the beginner to easily grasp. It makes you want to learn more of this lovely language. The background information by both Rosamund and Robert is very helpful as well."

In "Hebrew Lessons for Beginners from the New Testament" (2022), Rosamund and her husband Robert set out in twelve lessons some important brief introductions to how studies of the Hebrew letters and words can open our desire to know more of the God of Israel who chose this language to reveal Himself through the Covenant Hebrew people, and of how He speaks to His people. The New Testament, now translated into Greek, English and other languages, is based on the Hebrew language, and God has spoken to us in these last days by His Jewish Messiah Yeshua. Rosamund's  books are a great encouragement for us to know and to grow closer to Yeshua, and to follow Him, and I do not hesitate to recommend them.
